The final blog

Hi geobloggers! This is the last blog in English, this semester is over very soon, and English IV will be finished this summer, next year I don’t have more English’s class (sad). I hope to spend English!

This semester I enjoy so much write in the blog, more than the previous semester, because now, we had many more options to write. I liked when we write about Chilean Famous, or Hobby’s, but my favorite it’s was about one person I’d like to talk to, because I liked writing about Malala, I could always about her.  Also, maybe we had to write many blogs, and for this, now it’s easier for me to write complete sentences in English, I’m so proud of me hahaha.

But all good thing have something bad, I think the most boring post it’s about “interest subject this semester”, because this post remember me “You still don’t go on vacation!” (I hate university strike!!)  And I don’t have a favorite subject this semester because I’m so tired, I just want to pass the subject and finally rest!!

Thanks to the blog I can write much better, because I used new words and in its correct order hahaha (Before, I couldn’t write a sentence correctly). The practice of writing texts is very good, it helped me a lot. But I still have a lot to learn and practice.

And finally, I enjoy reading Martina’s blog, because then I could annoy her in the comments! Hahaha!

Bye!

2016 - The Good. the Bad and the Ugly

Hi, today I write about my 2016! I don´t have many interesting things to tell, buuuuuut…

This year I liked when I pass all my subjects from the previous semester, and I hope this happened again, only a couple of weeks left, I’m so nervous!
Also in my opinion, the bad thing about 2016 was the university strike, because this lasted a long time, and I don’t like lost my time, because I think this method isn’t the right one. We lost 2 months of classes because of this situation, and it’s a bad thing because of that we finished this semester in January, 2017. So Baaaaad and saaad!!!

This year finally I bought a telescope for Christmas, I can´t wait to use it!!!! I don’t know how it’s used yet, I hope to get it soon, and I will have to study for it!!!

I went to the cinema to see “Dory” and I cry so much (My childhood). Also I see “The secret life of pets” and this movie it was very funny, I recommend both, and as you see, I like animated film! Also I wait for the movie “Superwoman” that premieres in 2017, I’m so excited!
In TV, I don’t see anything, because I don’t like the current TV shows, they are so fake! Disgusting hahaha.

This year I’m so happy because finally Lady Gaga public Joanne” her fifth studio album and her sound is completely new to her, not as pop as before. I’m so proud, I love her! Also I liked “This is acting” by Sia, she is completely great, I hope she wins a Grammy in 2017, she deserves it.

And this year I travelled to “Viña del Mar” with two friends, Javiera y Maria Victoria (not the teacher), we stayed for 4 days in the apartment of Javiera. We slept a lot, but had a good time. Let it happen again!!

I’ll see you in another chapter! Bye!!

A one on one

Hi! Geoblogger, today I write about someone I'd like to have a one-on-one conversation with. For me, this is a difficult choice, because I don’t like meet with new persons, I’m very antisocial hahaha, but if I have no other choice, I would like meet with Malala Yousafzai, she is the youngest person who has won a Novel Prize, in this case, the Novel Peace Prize in 2014 with only 17 years old. She is an activist for the rights of education, especially the female, which in Pakistan, her country of origin, is prohibited.

My first heard about she was when I was seeing the page “Cuanta Razón” in 2013.In this page a found a picture that told about his history and I find this person interesting because she is so young (2 years younger than me), but she has achieved so much in such a short time, she started writing about her situation in Pakistan in a blog, was beginning to be known in the world and one day in 2012, one Taliban shot him in the head, severely wounding her. But she is so special, she don´t blame her assailant.

I would like to ask them, where does such strength come from? With all that she has had to live, how it’s that she has so much inner peace? And I don’t know, many others questions.

Also, now I read her book “I Am Malala: How one girl stood up for education and changed the world” and I highly recommend it!!

Bye, see you soon!

Interesting subject this semester

Hello! Today I write about Interesting subject this semester, God forbid!!!!
This semester I think Sectorial Economic is the most interesting subject, the professor who teacher this class is Fabiola Zamora, classes are Friday and start at 9am, many times she has canceled his classes, but let´s focus on the important things!

I think this subject is interesting because she teach us about as the regions of Chile develop and characterize one another and the professor teacher us how certain economic activities are developed through those characteristics that they possess. Also, many times, the professor teach us about others themes, how economic powers control everything for their benefit, how these same activities can bring with them so many good things as bad and the consequences of these, not only territorially but also in how it affects the ways of life of people.

The professor likes teach about Valparaiso, because she worked on the plan “regional planning” plan of this. And she know about many things, is very intelligent.

I think I will useful in my professional life to be able understand the territory in a more complete way, not only physical, the study of the territory is more complicated than it seems.

And finally, this subject is one of the most entertaining of this semester so boring, that’s the truth, so sad, I want to cry!!! I like this subject because the problems she teach us are visible to all, but nobody does anything to change that.

Bye! See you soon!

A Hobby

Hi! Today I wrote about one hobby but I don’t know I have or had a hobby, but I think that drawing can be one. I started drawing when I was a child, maybe when I was 4 or 5 years old, I drew every animals I saw in the encyclopedias, my specialty  was marine animals, I loved drew sharks and whales, because this animals was my favorites, but now, sharks scared me so much. And I was very good at them.

But then at school, they tried to structure this drawings and this became very boring! Buuu! “You must paint inside the line” “That is not a hand” “the sky is not paint like this” and another rulers. I think school kills creativity! One day, in my last year at school, my teacher gave me a folder with my academic background and in this folder I found some drawings of when I was a child, one of those was from my first day at school in kindergarten, this was very good, I liked, but when I saw the drawing of the last day of school that year I was impressed, because that drawing it was very bad, the lines were very controlled, sooooo bad!!

But, when a started my last four years at school, I become draw again, because I had a new art teacher, she liked to improvise and I like this, I like to combine styles and materials! Today I like draw everything, when I start I can’t stop this. I can be drawing all day, especially when I’m bored, I actually have notebooks full of drawings hahaha!

And this, see you soon! Bye!

Violeta Parra

Today I write about one famous Chilean I admire, this post is about Violeta Parra, she is the most important female singer-songwriter of Chile and Latin America, and she is also recognized for being a painter, sculptress, she embroidered and this work took her to appear in the Louvre. She also carried out numerous other activities. She is the author of the song “Gracias a la vida”, one of the most famous Latin American song and that has been versioned by many international artists, because it’s considered as a deeply human and universal work, and it’s a humanist hymn! I admire her because, she worked hard to rescue Chilean folklore and somehow, she did it. What I know about her it’s because they teach it to us in school and in other circumstances, she is very important for our culture. I know that his life was hard, she is the sister of another great artist Nicanor Parra, she had five children, she broke her heart and she wrote “Run run se fue pa´l norte” for this, and maybe, this last one, caused his suicide, but we don’t have that very clear. She used a tent to show people the Chilean folklore with other artist, bur now, this tent doesn’t exist anymore, this is very sad! Now this place it´s a condominium. But at least, have created a museum in their memory. Although it’s very important for us, the authorities have left it aside. Baaaad!!  And finally if I could meet her I don’t know what would do hahaha maybe I would just be nervous and say: Hello!

Bye, see you soon!

A Birthday or Celebration

Hi geobloggers! Today I have a new blog for you!

The most memorable birthday it was 6 years ago, when I turned 15 in 2010, I celebrated my “sweet fifteen”, in the USA are the sweet sixteen, but we decided to do it at 15, because in Latin America, this age is the “important”. That year I started to study, how called in Chile “La media”, that is, the last four years at school.

But whatever, I celebrated this especial birthday with three of my best friends at school, they were Claudia, Valentina and Fernanda. This birthday it was in a restaurant called “Bar Requegua” in San Vicente, in this place they had a dancing skating room, for skates on wheels, my mom told me that when she was a teenager, she was going to skate with her friends. The skating room we used it as a dance floor. Also in the restaurant they had a kind of aquarium with frogs that was so rare, but it was funny!! Next to this was the area with the tables.

I remember… All the people had to go formal dresses. A friend was worried that someone would come to the party with her same dress, and that happened!! She wanted to die!!! HAHAHAHA

Also Claudia´s older brother took us to the city by car and it was carrying balloons outside, when we arrived there were people who wanted to take photos with us, this embarrassed me!!
And we did many others things, but it is a long history!

Bye! See you soon!

Friday and Saturday I slept till late and I stayed in internet all day, but Saturday’s night I work in 2 homework’s. Sunday´s afternoon I went to the cemetery with my cousins, Gabriela and Josefa, we visit our great-grandmother and two other relatives. I don´t enjoyed much this visit, I don´t like this places and because this day was very hot, but I liked the part of flowers! Also this is so sad, because many people don´t had nothing! But whatever, I can’t do anything. Then we went to city and bought some ice-cream and finally we went to the house of our grandmother and we talked with our grandfather, that afternoon he spoke to us about trains and about their father. Then my cousins had to go to Rancagua, they live there.

Monday’s night I watch “Antes que sea tarde” NatGeo documentary, I love it!! But I’m scared by the situation on the planet. I watched it at 2 in the morning, the next day I was very tired, but it was worth it. You should watch this!!

And Tuesday I went to Santiago with a friend, we were in a traffic jam, but we arrived to check, then the subway was full, but I arrived well! That was a very tiring day!!!

Documentary

Hello! Today I have a new blog, I talk about documentary “Strange days on Planet Earth” part 1.

This is a good and interesting documentary I loved it!!. But I don’t understand some things, my english it’s not very good, and the narrator’s or interviewed people sometimes spoke very fast and I can’t read subtitles or sometimes I can’t understand her pronunciation, but that doesn’t mean I don’t understand anything, I think I caught the main idea that was the film. This is about change climate and her consequences.  I liked this documentary, because talk about many situations or phenome occurring in different countries and how affect each other, this is amazing, because this showing how the Earth it’s a big system and as our actions affect the world.

I found interesting in the film the connection between Sahara’s drought and asthma problems in Trinidad. Once again showing the great Earth system. Also this scared me, because I don’t know how people all around the world try to avoid this, because it’s a big problem we affects all!! I don’t understand wing people don’t believe in climate change, I crying!!!

I watch documentary about nature many times, always in my weekends. I love this type film!! I would like watch others documentary about this, I like nature, animals, everything about this.

And finally you need watch "Life after people" ! (other documentary)

A book

Hello! Today I talk about a one book I recommend and this called The Book Thief by Australian author Markus Suzak, this is one of the most beautiful and brilliant story I have been able to read.

I started to read this book recently because I don’t have many time for this, but I’m a good reader and hope to finish the book soon. I know about “The book thief” because I watched the film adaptation about this novel time ago with my little cousin and I was in love with the story, the plot, and character, everything in the novel or movie grabs you because you want to know everything about this.

I like this book because it’s the way of seeing a terrible time of humanity and I promise with this book you can smile and cry at the same time. I like when the book exited with small details, with a daily things for example make a snowman. This is a one beautiful part and if you don’t understand me now, you will understand me when you read the book.  We must seize the small details of life, how to read.
I would have much time to read many books, now I want read all the books of the world :(

See you soon!!

Holidays

Hello, Today a have a new blog! The new topic is about holidays!

In my last holidays I went to “Safari Rancagua” with my mom (She feel alone, because my brother and I stayed more time in Santiago than home). And she decided to invite a most wonderful experience in my life, because I love animals! We went in the last month, in September, we take advantage, because on those dates, all people in Chile stay at home with his family.

We were in there all morning and part of afternoon.

In Safari I saw tigers, lion, giraffes, ostrich, ducks, bears and many others animals. I saw very close, so close toy could touch them, but only if they do not want to cut an arm (tigers or lion). To see the lions and tigers, we went up to OLD jeep and the lion jump over jeep and I could touch their legs, but him snarling very strong!!! I and the all people in this jeep we are cared by them.

Also, I gave a cookie to a one peacock, and he followed me around the grounds!

And a visit the place of herbivores, where I saw a giraffe to a meter away from me. And finally we visit “Jurassic Park” in this part I felt like a child, because it reminded me a one of my favorite movies as a child. This is a one most funny moment of day! I enjoyed it a lot!! <3
And this is my experience in my last holidays!

Website

Hi! Today I speak about a one website i like, this is "See Winter", in this website you can see in real time a dolphin called Winter, this dolphin when he was young lost its rear wing, and he was rescued by ClearWater Marine Aquarium where he live today. I found this web because I saw a movie "Dolphin Tale" in this film shows all its  history and in the end, in the credits, you get the address of the page so you can adopt a dolphin, this also shows you a video where you can see Winter doing exercises with his prosthesis. For me, this is very beautiful experience.

I watch this page not very often, because it’s a live webcam and sometimes is very repetitive. But anyway I visit occasionally because his story is very interesting and also you can see various topics on this page for example “Tips for a healthier ocean”, “Careers in marine science” among others, where you can educate about life in the ocean. I like this page, because I’m an animal lover and everything that has to do with them. And for me, the Winter´s history is very motivating for everyone and this page it’s a great idea to approach the marine world.

Education in Chile and Student's Strike

The place where I come, the student’s strike are not popular. In my school there was no talk of this. Through 13 years in my school not knowing about it.
When I started studying in university I moved to Santiago and I chose to study in “Universidad Diego Portales”, for one year I had a “normal” student’s year, that is to say, I finished this year in December. But the normally student’s year in Chile it’s not like this. In my second year in Santiago I decided to change my career and started studying geography at the “Universidad de Chile”in my first year I lived my first student’s strike, at that moment I was very angry, because, for me this method is not good. The student should look for new method, more effective to achieve their demands, because the loss of classes does not help.
Now, this year we have lost 2 months, maybe 3 and again my parents will have to pay more money for my stay in Santiago (one month more). Because this year ending January.
The student’s strike in my opinion injures human’s rights, because this movements is not democratic, every day the “majority” goes out the minority, and this is so bad. But actually the majority is not who make the decisions, because, the people are not interested in these movements or if students think differently are attacked by it. All student have a voice, but in FAU many cannot give your opinion. It’s crazy guys!
But the reason why fighting is very important, because the quality and equality in education it’s a human right and it’s important for the development of Chile. And to get that it’s necessary the dialogue, brainstorming, different opinions, and of course, respect and tolerance.
Bye, see you later guys.
Peace!

Gender Roles: (Discrimination and sexism)

In Chile, sexism is a problem in this country, differentiation between men and women produce battle of the sexes and how should I behave, and the sad situations, produce discriminations between men and woman. And this an old problem and still present in these days. In my opinion, sexism produces the capabilities of people to weaken.
This sexism manifests in differences in work, for example “this work it’s only for men, because it’s a hard work, and women it’s a weaker sex”, the men is in charge the many “hard work”, because social convention says “Men are stronger and de women are weak”, this social convention it’s because many times the men are more tall or larger that women. But in reality it’s not always so. One example is construction jobs.
Or sexism manifests in how people behave, because Chilean men thinks should be rude, for example, they should not cry, this they learn it as children, but instead, girls learn to be sentimental and for social convention is a good thing. But this restricts expression of men, because when they (boys) are children, they are more sentimental and sensitive that girls and during development social convention into action. And this does see woman as weaker sex.
In the Chilean family the sexism manifest when the mother is household management, she cooks, cleans, she stay with children, and also she works outside the home, and men only works outside the home, and sometimes help at home. This is what happens in my house, my mother works so hard outside the home, and also she is a household management and my father works outside the home, but he no help at home, he only watch TV. I don’t kwon my mom hold this, or why my father is so. Come on! We are in the 21st century!

In conclusion, both men and women they have the same capabilities and we must empower!! This is an illogical problem, get it over with!

See you soon!      I hope...

Also The only problem was the heat, in this resort I stayed in cabins.  I thought this place would be cold, but I was wrong, every day was very hot, and I don’t wear much clothing summer, that’s not cool!
But despite that it was a fun trip with my family!
