A Hobby

Hi! Today I wrote about one hobby but I don’t know I have or had a hobby, but I think that drawing can be one. I started drawing when I was a child, maybe when I was 4 or 5 years old, I drew every animals I saw in the encyclopedias, my specialty  was marine animals, I loved drew sharks and whales, because this animals was my favorites, but now, sharks scared me so much. And I was very good at them.

But then at school, they tried to structure this drawings and this became very boring! Buuu! “You must paint inside the line” “That is not a hand” “the sky is not paint like this” and another rulers. I think school kills creativity! One day, in my last year at school, my teacher gave me a folder with my academic background and in this folder I found some drawings of when I was a child, one of those was from my first day at school in kindergarten, this was very good, I liked, but when I saw the drawing of the last day of school that year I was impressed, because that drawing it was very bad, the lines were very controlled, sooooo bad!!

But, when a started my last four years at school, I become draw again, because I had a new art teacher, she liked to improvise and I like this, I like to combine styles and materials! Today I like draw everything, when I start I can’t stop this. I can be drawing all day, especially when I’m bored, I actually have notebooks full of drawings hahaha!

And this, see you soon! Bye!

Violeta Parra

Today I write about one famous Chilean I admire, this post is about Violeta Parra, she is the most important female singer-songwriter of Chile and Latin America, and she is also recognized for being a painter, sculptress, she embroidered and this work took her to appear in the Louvre. She also carried out numerous other activities. She is the author of the song “Gracias a la vida”, one of the most famous Latin American song and that has been versioned by many international artists, because it’s considered as a deeply human and universal work, and it’s a humanist hymn! I admire her because, she worked hard to rescue Chilean folklore and somehow, she did it. What I know about her it’s because they teach it to us in school and in other circumstances, she is very important for our culture. I know that his life was hard, she is the sister of another great artist Nicanor Parra, she had five children, she broke her heart and she wrote “Run run se fue pa´l norte” for this, and maybe, this last one, caused his suicide, but we don’t have that very clear. She used a tent to show people the Chilean folklore with other artist, bur now, this tent doesn’t exist anymore, this is very sad! Now this place it´s a condominium. But at least, have created a museum in their memory. Although it’s very important for us, the authorities have left it aside. Baaaad!!  And finally if I could meet her I don’t know what would do hahaha maybe I would just be nervous and say: Hello!

Bye, see you soon!

A Birthday or Celebration

Hi geobloggers! Today I have a new blog for you!

The most memorable birthday it was 6 years ago, when I turned 15 in 2010, I celebrated my “sweet fifteen”, in the USA are the sweet sixteen, but we decided to do it at 15, because in Latin America, this age is the “important”. That year I started to study, how called in Chile “La media”, that is, the last four years at school.

But whatever, I celebrated this especial birthday with three of my best friends at school, they were Claudia, Valentina and Fernanda. This birthday it was in a restaurant called “Bar Requegua” in San Vicente, in this place they had a dancing skating room, for skates on wheels, my mom told me that when she was a teenager, she was going to skate with her friends. The skating room we used it as a dance floor. Also in the restaurant they had a kind of aquarium with frogs that was so rare, but it was funny!! Next to this was the area with the tables.

I remember… All the people had to go formal dresses. A friend was worried that someone would come to the party with her same dress, and that happened!! She wanted to die!!! HAHAHAHA

Also Claudia´s older brother took us to the city by car and it was carrying balloons outside, when we arrived there were people who wanted to take photos with us, this embarrassed me!!
And we did many others things, but it is a long history!

Bye! See you soon!

Last Weekend

Hi geobloggers, today I speak about my last weekend! It was a long weekend, but despite this I don’t do anything great. I went to San Vicente de Tagua Tagua, and I stayed from Friday to Tuesday in my mother’s house.

Friday and Saturday I slept till late and I stayed in internet all day, but Saturday’s night I work in 2 homework’s. Sunday´s afternoon I went to the cemetery with my cousins, Gabriela and Josefa, we visit our great-grandmother and two other relatives. I don´t enjoyed much this visit, I don´t like this places and because this day was very hot, but I liked the part of flowers! Also this is so sad, because many people don´t had nothing! But whatever, I can’t do anything. Then we went to city and bought some ice-cream and finally we went to the house of our grandmother and we talked with our grandfather, that afternoon he spoke to us about trains and about their father. Then my cousins had to go to Rancagua, they live there.

Monday’s night I watch “Antes que sea tarde” NatGeo documentary, I love it!! But I’m scared by the situation on the planet. I watched it at 2 in the morning, the next day I was very tired, but it was worth it. You should watch this!!

And Tuesday I went to Santiago with a friend, we were in a traffic jam, but we arrived to check, then the subway was full, but I arrived well! That was a very tiring day!!!

And that was my weekend.

Bye, see you soon!
